Bio

Angie Heintz is a visual artist, based in Vancouver, BC, on the unceded traditional territories of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), Stó:lō and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) and xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) peoples.

Angie’s artistic practice is centered around themes of her Scottish and German settler heritage, land dispossession and the emotional attachment to dwellings. Her most recent work explores the temporal nature of occupancy, landscapes of injustice and the resilience of both people and nature.

Angie's compositions are keepers of memory, capturing the nuances of places both real and imagined through layers of medium and playful palettes. Her artistic practice includes sculpture, collage and printmaking, with a focus on painting.

Angie holds a Diploma in Graphic Design from Kwantlen University (1995), a Diploma in Fine Arts from Kwantlen University (1996) and a BFA in Visual Arts from Emily Carr University of Art and Design (2024).
